From a toy sewing machine to award-winning designer
Kholiswa Inspired is the fashion design house of Kolly Seti — loose, flowing, dreamy clothing made by hand in Makhanda, in the Eastern Cape. Nature remains her constant inspiration.
The journey so far
Childhood
A toy sewing machine, and hours watching her grandmother and aunts sew on Singer hand machines.
Training
Studied fashion design at Nelson Mandela University.
2011
Began designing and sewing one-off pieces for clients.
2017
Went full time — and won Best Designer Range at NMBFW the same year.
2018
Kholiswa Ltd. registered, with its own studio in Makhanda.
2024
Woman Entrepreneur Award, and 1st place for Best Smallholder Rural Development.
